Annie Perreault, a secondary ESL teacher at Jean-Jacques Bertrand High School (CSVDC), developed an activity for students to write poetry and record a narration of their poem using the video function in Adobe Creative Cloud Express (Canva can also be used to create the video).
Students write their poem according to a specific structure. They can use an online resource called Rhyme Zone to help them in their writing.
When ready, students record their poem using Adobe Creative Cloud Express (formely Spark Video) and find images that would support their text.
When completed, the productions are shared and watched in the classroom. It is a great opportunity to provide constructive feedback to their peers.
